The Hidden Inflammation You Can't See

How Oral Health Affects Your Heart, Energy, and Aging

Presented by Dr. Eugene Antenucci
Assistant Professor - Clinical
LSU Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry

Why This Conversation Matters:
Chronic Inflammation is now widely recognized as a contributor to cardiovascular disease, fatigue, accelerated aging, and long-term health decline. Yet individuals, and even healthcare professionals, focus on managing inflammation without identifying the upstream sources that keep the immune system persistently activated.

One of the most commonly overlooked contributors lies in the mouth.

This webinar explains how oral inflammation can quietly influence systemic health by repeatedly activating the immune system, causing vascular stress, and impairing recovery, often without obvious dental symptoms.

What This Webinar Will Explore
In this session, we will discuss:
• What inflammation is–and what it is not
• How oral inflammation contributes to systemic immune activation
• The relationship between oral health, vascular health, and aging
• Why some patients plateau despite optimized lifestyle and medical care
• How integration across disciplines supports resilience and recovery

Doing Everything Right–Yet Still Not Improving
Many individuals are actively engaged in their health. They eat thoughtfully, exercise regularly, manage stress, prioritize sleep, and monitor key health markers.

Yet despite these efforts, a familiar pattern often emerges:
• Persistent aches or discomfort
• Ongoing low-grade fatigue
• Slower recovery from exercise, illness, or injury
• A sense that progress has stalled

When this occurs, the issue is often not effort–but an unrecognized biological burden.

A Different Way of Thinking About Inflammation
This is not a discussion about suppressing inflammation.
Inflammation is a necessary biological response.
The problem arises when it never fully resolves.
This webinar focuses on understanding inflammation as a signal–and identifying the sources that prevent the body from returning to balance.
